I am a molecular neurobiologist at BISMB, where my research focuses on understanding the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying diseases that affect the nervous system, with a particular emphasis on cancer and neurodegenerative disorders. At BISMB, my current project investigates the toxic effects of nanoplastics on the nervous system, with a specific focus on their potential role in neurodegenerative disorders (Alzheimer’s disease). This work aims to elucidate how environmental pollutants, such as nanoplastics, contribute to the progression of neurological disorders. To tackle these complex research questions, we employ advanced experimental models to explore disease mechanisms and evaluate therapeutic interventions, including 3D cultures (brain organoids) and in vivo systems (Genetically Engineered Mouse Models), alongside cutting-edge single-cell technologies developed in our lab.
