I am a PhD student and study how the human brain is impacted by neurotropic virus infection as well as environmental pollutants, such as micro- and nanoplastics. Using human iPSC-derived brain organoids, I want to understand what molecular changes the brain undergoes in response to such foreign agents and what the molecular drivers of disease are. For that I apply classical methods of molecular biology as well as cutting-edge spatial transcriptomics and proteomics approaches.
